Tolix
Tolix
A mythical name, a symbol of the French art of living, TOLIX embodies a unique know-how.
Tolix design furniture
Chic and popular at the same time, TOLIX achieves the alchemy between beauty and utility, interior and exterior, solidity and lightness, durability and purity of line.
TOLIX was born after the Great War with the production of seats, armchairs, stools and metal furniture. Stainless, robust and stackable, the various models designed by Xavier Pauchard immediately found their place in the world of utilitarian design.
They were soon found both indoors and outdoors, thanks to their galvanised steel, in public gardens and café terraces.
At the end of the 1950s, when his son Jean succeeded Xavier Pauchard, TOLIX and its 80 workers manufactured nearly 60,000 units per year and remained in the family until 2004.
Today Chantal Andriot, out of passion and loyalty, has taken over TOLIX and has greatly expanded its production by using new manufacturing processes that protect the environment and has invested in high-performance digital machines that still accompany the many manual operations and tools inherited from the past.
WHO DOESN’T KNOW ABOUT THE A-CHAIR?
Often copied but never equalled, here is its story.
Created in 1927 by Xavier Pauchard, the A chair has been a worldwide success since its creation!
Before entering the collections of the VITRA MUSEUM, the MOMA, the POMPIDOU centre or the VILLA SAVOYE of the renowned architect LE CORBUSIER, the A chair was taken on board the Normandy liner in 1935 and populated café terraces, hospitals, the American army and communities before entering the private sphere. Still handmade in Burgundy in their factory, as is 100% of their furniture, the A Chair remains an icon in the world of design.
Available in steel for the TOLIX® HOME version, the A Chair is also available in stainless steel for a TOLIX® OUTDOOR version.
The A Chair is now available in perforated stainless steel for a new, resolutely chic style.
The A Chairs can be fitted with a TOLIX® cake.
All TOLIX furniture is made to order especially for you.

TOLIX AND SUSTAINIBILITY
-
TOLIX uses steel and stainless steel exclusively from the European Union, two highly resistant materials that are fully recyclable. Highly resistant to corrosion, stainless steel is particularly suitable for outdoor use.
-
TOLIX finishes
-
For the paint, Matte, Gloss and Matte Fine Texture (MTF), the 3 finishes each offer different looks and feel.
The MTF finish is distinguished by a fine grained finish that looks and feels good.
For the lacquers, galvanisation provides the necessary corrosion protection for outdoor use.
Perforated finish provides lightness and elegance.

TOLIX colours
-
For interior and exterior use, TOLIX uses only epoxy paints for perfect resistance over time.
In her online shop, Vanina Henry offers a selection of modern and timeless shades, those she uses for her projects. However, for a touch of pop and to enhance an atmosphere, why not choose a strong colour. They are all available on request, see the colour chart.
